Awanas

WEDNESDAY NIGHTS  6:15 - 8:00pm
Awana means "Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed" and it is based on II Timothy 2:15:
"Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."

About Awana
Awana meets every Wednesday evening from 6:15pm to 8:00pm. Awana clubs run during the school year. For Wednesdays during the summer, see our Way Out Wednesdays page.

AWANA offers a unique award system that helps motivate clubbers to achieve.  When clubbers complete entrance booklets, handbooks, and other achievements, they receive patches, bars, and other awards they can wear on their uniform.  Achievements earned each night also equal points and an award for the winning team.  These incentives reinforce good behavior, encourage future achievement, and create enthusiasm for learning.

Young Families Ministries offers the following Awana Clubs:

Cubbies - For preschoolers who are at least 3 years old and will be starting Kindergarten within 2 years. Check your child in at the preschool security desk and you will be directed to the appropriate room. Participation is limited to children whose parents are participating in Wednesday evening programs on-campus at FBC.

Sparks - For Kindergarten to 2nd grade. Starts and ends in Fellowship Hall A.

Truth and Training (T&T) - for 3rd-5th grades. Boys and girls are separated into different clubs and meets at Powell Elementary.

Uniforms are an import aspect of the club. They are relatively inexpensive, but if cost is an impediment to your child's participation in AWANA, please call and discuss this with Pete Linkous at 947-9074.
