Philos Project - 2009

PHILOS '09 VOLUNTEER APPLICATION PROCESS
January/February 2009

The Philos '09 Project is a ministry event in Southeast Asia in late January, early February, 2009.Our convention services ministry encompasses hosting a conference, supplying a keynote speaker (Pastor Phil Jones), providing worship ministry with tech support, VBS for the preschoolers and elementary-aged children in attendance, staffing and administering a youth camp, a medical clinic, IT support, a prayer ministry team, and providing fellowship activities. Over 200 volunteer positions must be filled to adequately meet our responsibilities.

If possible, while you are in Southeast Asia, you may have the opportunity to attend a cultural show at a nearby world-renowned tourist venue, for a real taste of the host country. We are trying to arrange after dinner, mission-related activities for those who would like to participate.

Applicants must be at least 18 years old

These forms must be completed in their entirety and submitted as soon as possible:

Non-FBC Powell/Fountain City members will make their own arrangements for travel to Atlanta or Louisville for departure and return.

We have contracts with several airlines for our airline tickets. As you may imagine, tickets for 225 people is logistically challenging. Please list your preferred flight in the space noted on the application. We will make every effort to accommodate your preference; however, the majority of our seats are for Flight 3A, 3B, and 3C. At this time, we plan for every volunteer to check one extra piece of luggage for the ministry. You may also check one personal bag, part of which may contain ministry materials. Airline specs will be given to you after you are assigned a flight. There are no allowances for departure/return date exceptions . The dates listed are the dates you need to be availablEach applicant is asked to list Philos '09 ministry preferences, numbered in order of preference. Every effort will be made to assign volunteers to their preferred ministry area. However, please be aware that the majority of our needs are for preschool and children's ministry workers. Every ministry area will have experienced, well-trained personnel overseeing the ministry. Each volunteer will receive training in their ministry assignment and have the ministry teaching/resource materials to review in advance.
