Mission 19 VBS

Our VBS for 2011 is in the form of Backyard Bible Clubs which will be held in various neighborhoods or communities.

The name of our VBS is “Mission 19”, which a 3-day club that focuses on creation, revelation, and salvation using Psalm 19 as the framework.

These clubs are primarily targeted at kids who will be starting K-5th grades in the fall.  If older kids want to participate that is fine.  Older preschoolers may be okay as well, but we ask that a parent stay and help the child.  Parents are always welcome to stay and observe, though that is not required for the target ages.

For FBC members and regular attenders who would like for their child to participate, we encourage that.  However, we do ask that you call the club leader and ask if they need help!  One of the target goals for these clubs is to encourage our church members to get involved and to get to know the people in their community!

So far, we have the following clubs planned for this summer:

Jun 1-3, Brickyard Hills Subdivision – Jennifer Neal (947-1233)

Jun 8-10, Twilight Mobile Home Park – Glenda Thomas (539-4829)

Jun 16-18 – Adair Park – Ron Lauderdale (688-3326)

Jun 20-22 – Sterchi Hills Subdivision – Tara Fox (438-6638)

Jun 27-29 – Gamble Mobile Home Park – Jenny Buhl (938-1528)

July 11-13 – Mynatt Rd Mobile Home Park (Hispanic) – Amber Leach (310-1188)

July 11-13 – Oak Haven Mobile Home Park – Tracy Peevy (539-0366)

Unsched – Hartley Lane Mobile Home Park – No leader yet.

Unsched – Western Heights or Lonsdale – Jeanette Cameron (242-8758)

Unsched – Fieldstone Farms Subdivision – Stephanie Willis (859-0039)

Unsched – Country Walk – Diane Shipley (947-2347)

We still have time to schedule more clubs if you would like to have one in your community.  To set up a club, we need a someone to take the lead in setting up the place, team, and schedule for the club.  The church (Pete Linkous, 947-9074) will provide materials, and can help to find volunteers for the clubs leadership team.
