Prayer Ministry

The Prayer Vision of First Baptist is to equip every member to walk in intimacy with God, to intercede for individual needs, and to saturate every ministry with prayer as these ministries carry out the purpose of the church.

Powersource - Our Wednesday night prayer service which meets in the Main Worship Center of the Powell campus. The service starts at 6:30pm and concludes at 7:45pm. Each week has a different theme. Most weeks the service includes songs, praises, prayer for the heavy-hearted, teaching time, and time for prayer.

Fountain City Prayer Meeting - Held on the Fountain City campus on Wednesday nights at 6:00pm.

PowerHouse Prayer Room - The focus is to pray for families, government, church, pew & phone requests that come in each week & for lost souls and revival. If you have a prayer need, you may call the payer line at 947-7729.

Watchman Prayer Ministry - Focuses on praying for our staff, local mission & outreach ministries, missionaries form our mission celebration. For more information, contact Kathy Patton at 947-9074.

Hold the Ropes - Prayer ministry focused on praying for our missionary partners, such as: The Haynes, Mercers, Lovetts, and Lindsey Powers. It also focuses on our unreached people groups and missionaries we ahve met in need of prayer support. For more information, contact Kathy Patton at 947-9074.

Mission Prayer Partner - Each mission team member is asked to secure at least 5 prayer partners who will pray for them before they leave, while on site, and when they return home. the prayer partners are given prayer request from the team member so they know how to best pray for them. Mission Prayer Cards are available for each mission team that everyone who wants to pray will have a reminder.

National Day of Prayer - Each year on the first Thursday in May, our church doors are open for people to come at their convenience to pray for our president, nation, and revival. Guidelines are available.

Hannah’s Hope - Hannah’s Hope is an infertility prayer and support group. Women in various stages and treatments for childlessness come for encouragement, fellowship, and to bring their requests to God. Whether secondary or primary infertility, the goal is the same – to glorify God during this trying circumstance. For more information, contact Alison Kirby at 938-7575.
