The Prayer Vision of First Baptist is to equip every member to walk in intimacy with God, to intercede for individual needs, and to saturate every ministry with prayer as these ministries carry out the purpose of the church.
Prayer Central – Prayer Central is the body of Christ engaged in the practice of following the Lord’s example of prayer as given in Matthew 6:9-13. We first and foremost recognize that prayer is worship. We then acknowledge that prayer is the expression of our desire that God’s will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Subsequently prayer becomes the offering of our petitions and intercessions for the church as a body, for individual church members, for the nation, and for the many other needs that are brought before us. Each week, using the Scriptures as our prayer guide, we take time for silent prayer as well as public prayer. We meet every Wednesday evening in Room 141 from 6:30 pm to 7:45 pm.
PowerHouse Prayer Room – A prayer ministry where you commit to a certain day and time each week to come to the prayer room located off the church offices. The focus is to pray for the prayer requests that come in each week on the connection cards.
Hold the Ropes – This is an at home prayer ministry that focuses on praying for our elders and our missionary partners, internationally and in the US. It also focuses on our unreached people groups and outreach ministries. For more information, contact Kathy Patton at 947-9074. View this month’s Hold the Ropes
Mission Prayer Partner – Each mission team member is asked to secure at least 5 prayer partners who will pray for them before they leave, while on site, and when they return home. The prayer partners are given prayer requests from the team member so they know how to best pray for them. Mission Prayer Cards are available for each mission team that everyone who wants to pray will have a reminder.
