Yemen

Yemen is one of the poorest countries on the Arabian Peninsula. About 90% of the men use a drug called “khat” daily, limiting national advancement. Islam is the official religion. The Shariah Law, the muslim’s law from allah, is the ultimate source of all legislation. It is illegal for non-muslims to try and convert, and for muslims to convert to Christianity. Yemeni converts from Islam face the death penalty if discovered. Many Christians have been arrested and killed for their faith, and obedience to Christ in making disciples among the people of Yemen.

Yemenis recognize honesty in Christians, and this makes them open to the Gospel message.

Lift the Yemenis up in prayer to the Living God throughout this week.

Pray that the Gospel would be spread, so that the Spirit would cause a spiritual awakening among the people of Yemen.
