Will the score be kept during games?: The league will keep score during games.
Does Strive have any unique rules for soccer? Why play 3vs3, 4vs4 and 7vs7?
Strive Sports utilizes the rules for soccer established by FIFA, but below is a chart which provides details of how each league is structured for each age group.
There are several advantages of having teams with fewer players and fewer players on the field. Less players on the field will allow each player to touch the ball exponentially more times, which will enable each child to get more experience and develop at a much faster rate. The skill level of each child will increase with fewer players, and this also provides coaches with more time with each child. More goals are scored with less players and this raises the level of excitement for the players. There will be no goalkeepers for 4-5 year olds and 1st-2nd grade divisions. The more times in each game and practice each child can be more involved will make each child a better player and allow each child to be more involved in all aspects of the game, and most importantly each child has more fun and gets to play more minutes each game.
Age cutoff date is March 1st.
Evaluations will be held on the soccer field: 4u @ 10am, 6u @ 11 am, 8u/10u @ 12 pm

|October 1-November 8||Registration|
Are there any costs outside of the registration fee? The cost of the leagues is $35 per child, with a maximum of $100 per family, and there are no other costs associated with the leagues. The $35 covers uniform costs, which for soccer would include jersey, shorts, and socks. Parents need to provide shin guards and cleats. Shin guards are required to participate but cleats are not required, however cleats are highly recommended for playing soccer.
When are practices and games? Practices will be on a weekday but not on Wednesdays or Fridays, and games will be played on Saturdays. Practices last one hour, and devotional time is scheduled into every practice.
Why are devotionals incorporated into Strive Sports? Strive Sports is a sports ministry program with the goal of bringing glory to God by providing a Christ-centered youth sports program to develop children as athletes and as disciples of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Practice will be dedicated to developing the skill level of each child, and to teaching the children how to be better players with drills which emphasize the fundamentals and how to master the fundamentals. Each practice will also feature a brief period devoted to teaching the children truths from God’s word, the Bible. Each devotional is age appropriate and teaches of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
“16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.” 2 Timothy 3:16-17 (New King James Version)
Why is the score kept during games? When children win or lose both are teachable moments, as children need to learn how to be gracious and humble if their team wins or loses. Winning is not the focus of Strive Sports. Children working together with teammates for a common goal and learning to handle the results in a Christ-like manner are lessons which will benefit any child.
Are there rules pertaining to playing time? All children will play the same amount of time; the only exception is the last period of each game when the coach can substitute freely. All players will play, at a minimum, half the game, and no players will sit out consecutive periods.
Coaches & Referees: We always need volunteers!!!
